Finally - The Roof!

Who ever heard of rain in Texas in August?  Well this year it's a weekly event and has been delaying the roof.  Finally the roofing material was delivered on Friday

And Tuesday it started going on.  I love it!

Stucco - Day 21

The front of the house is finished!  Got this photo from the stucco guys, I'll be down in the morning to see for myself.

Chimney Caps

Another big item off my list today, the chimney caps were installed.  Cool.

Waterproofing the Balcony

It's a busy week out at the house.  Today PFC Contracting came out and waterproofed the balcony.  Funny, I didn't even know I needed this a month ago.  Really happy to have this done, as it was holding up the stucco.

First they lay down a rubber sealant.

Then they put on their rubber boots and shoot in the concrete.

And finally they smooth it all off.  Voila!

A Glimpse of Exterior Paint

The painter started the exterior paint today.  You can start to see the final colors now.

Sheetrock, lots and lots of Sheetrock!

The sheetrock was delivered today in the bedroom,

 and the living room,

and the dining room,

and the family room,

and the game room,

and in every room of the house!

Stucco - Day 15

The final stucco layer with the color is starting to go on now.  I love it!

Here you can see how the windows and doors are being trimmed out prior to stucco going on.

You can see the band of trim on the top of the chimney chase, too.

Stucco - Day 10

I came back from a weekend in Fort Worth to find the house covered in grey mud.  Sort of looks like it's getting a facial.  It won't be long before the color starts to go on.

Here you can see the scratch coat on the left and the topcoat on the right.

Foam Insulation - Just one small step for man

The foam insulation was started today.  It looks like the lunar landing in my theater!

It's Not Easy Being Green - Stucco Time

The scaffolding is up and the wrap is going on.  I'm gonna kinda miss the green.
